Made it to Indy

2 days,
8 bananas,
3 apples,
1 gallon of water,
$12.50 in OK tolls,
1 meal at Waffle House,
1 meal at Denny's,
1,100 miles,
1 TX DPS traffic warning,
and a visit to the St. Louis Arch.
The car I was to deliver is safe and sound in the hotel parking lot.

The Jefferson National Expansion Memorial is spectacular. It far exceeded my expectations, but of course, it is an Eero Saarinen and Dan Kiley design. The arch is stunning and the landscape is a perfect example of modern plaza/park design. Its simple, clean, intentful, and timeless. Sound familiar?

There is a 2015 plan for landscape renovation that reflects a current shift in landscape architecture to make public spaces more diverse, sustainable, and didactic. The proposal is displayed in the museum. The design creates a strong connection with adjacent development, the riverfront, and municipal properties. It's always encouraging to see designs for public spaces by designers that "get it" and selection teams who choose wisely.
